Does Monito upload my videos to the cloud?+
Your video and audio files never leave your device. For AI features, Monito sends only what the AI needs to make decisions: your request, transcripts, timing, and descriptions of your timeline, never the video files themselves. When Monito's assistant needs to see your video, it also sends a few still frames. Apple Intelligence handles this on your device, or on Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which Apple builds so your data is never stored or made accessible to Apple. Cloud AI uses it only to answer your request, not to train AI models. You can also pin the on-device local model in Settings to keep AI Edit, Auto Clips, and Post Generator fully offline. On Mac, AI apps you connect through Agent Access can see frames of your projects, and that app's provider handles what it sees. There are no accounts. Monito does collect usage analytics and approximate location, linked to a random app ID. See the
Privacy Policy for details.
What is Monito's assistant?+
Monito's assistant edits your video when you describe the change. Open it in the editor, type something like “remove the long pauses”, “add captions in yellow”, or “add upbeat music”, and it makes the edit on your timeline: cuts, captions, music and sound effects, text, transitions, zooms, masks, and more. It watches and listens to your video to place each edit, lists every change, and one tap undoes them. It can also write your post's title, caption, and hashtags. It runs with Apple Intelligence on iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS 27 and later without credits, and with Cloud AI everywhere else.
Can AI agents edit in Monito?+
Yes, on Mac. With Monito Pro, turn on Agent Access in Settings and connect Claude, Codex, Cursor, or any app that supports MCP. The app can then create and open projects, edit the timeline, render frames to check its work, and export, importing media only from folders you allow. Only apps on your Mac can connect, every change can be undone with ⌘Z, and Monito's assistant and an agent never edit at the same time.
What is AI Edit?+
AI Edit takes one or many clips and produces a polished video. AI handles the cuts, captions, music, and pacing for you. Three built-in recipes: Talking Head Short for TikTok / Reels / Shorts, Long-Form for YouTube-style vlogs, or Montage for music-driven highlight edits like travel, gym, events, and more. You can customize aspect, style, cut strength, captions, and audio in one panel.
Where does the AI run?+
Monito picks the best engine for your device automatically. On newer iPhones, iPads, Macs and Apple Vision Pro, that's Apple Intelligence (iOS 26+/visionOS 26+/macOS 26+). On iOS 27 and later, Apple Intelligence uses Apple's Private Cloud Compute for the smartest results when you're online, with a daily allowance Apple sets based on your iCloud plan, and falls back to your device when you're offline or past it. Devices that don't support Apple Intelligence but have at least 4 GB of RAM can download a local model instead. Monito's assistant uses Apple Intelligence on OS 27 and later. Cloud AI works on any device with internet, handles the longest videos, and is the option for devices that can't run AI locally at all. It uses credits: a fixed number per use, with fresh credits every week on the subscription and credit packs for subscribers and Lifetime owners. You can pin any engine in Settings. Auto Captions, AutoCut, and Background Removal always run on-device.
