Monito Privacy Policy

Monito is a video editing app that keeps your content private. Your video and audio files never leave your device. For AI features (AI Edit, Auto Clips, Post Generator), only the transcripts and scene descriptions needed for the AI to make decisions are sent to our service when you use Cloud AI — never the raw footage. You can switch the AI engine to Apple Intelligence or a local on-device model in Settings to keep everything fully offline.

Purchase Data — When you subscribe to Monito Pro, purchase data (such as transaction history and subscription status) is collected and linked to your identity by Apple and our payment processor RevenueCat. This data is used solely to manage your subscription and restore purchases across your devices.

Advertising & Attribution Data — If you grant permission when prompted (Apple's App Tracking Transparency), Monito shares a limited set of app events — such as app installs, free-trial starts, and subscriptions — together with your device's advertising identifier with TikTok. We use this only to measure and optimize the advertising campaigns that bring new users to Monito. If you decline the prompt, this data is not collected or shared. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Aside from the data described above, Monito has no user accounts and does not collect your personal data or profile how you use the editor.

• AI-powered features (AI Edit, Auto Clips, and AI-generated titles/descriptions/hashtags) need at least one of the following engines:
  • Cloud AI (default) — works on any device with an internet connection.
  • Apple Intelligence — available only on devices that support it (iOS 26+ or visionOS 26+) and have it enabled.
  • Downloadable on-device local model — available on devices that don't support Apple Intelligence but have at least 4 GB of RAM and ~2 GB of free storage.
  Apple Intelligence and the on-device local model are mutually exclusive based on hardware: each device qualifies for one or the other, never both. Devices that support neither rely exclusively on Cloud AI.
At least one engine must be available for these features to work.
• Auto Captions and AutoCut require a device that supports Apple's speech recognition.
• 4K export requires sufficient device storage and processing capability.

Anthropic — When you use Cloud AI, transcripts and scene descriptions are sent to Anthropic's Claude API through our infrastructure. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models. See Anthropic's privacy policy.

Apple-provided features are subject to Apple's privacy policy.

RevenueCat — We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat may collect anonymized purchase data as described in their privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

TikTok — With your consent, Monito uses the TikTok Business SDK to measure and optimize our advertising. It receives the app-event and attribution data described above. See TikTok's privacy policy.

Apple — Monito uses Apple frameworks (Speech Recognition, Apple Intelligence) that operate on-device. Apple's own privacy terms apply to the underlying operating system. For more information, see Apple's Privacy Policy.

Monito accesses your photo library and files only when you explicitly import videos or audio. Exported videos are saved to your photo library or shared via the system share sheet. We do not access or upload your media to any third-party servers.

Monito does not knowingly collect any data from children or any other users beyond the data described above.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated date at the top of this page.
